You will often hear these words shouted at After the Tears, possible after a tiny beverage (or tears, as the name suggests).
The translation is, ‘to health!’ and the irony of the saying is long forgotten once you’ve had three… or four… or floor… shots of vodka.
With traditional Polish food and some of the most delicious cocktails, you will ever find (seriously, these are drool-worthy) this place is great for a first date, a second date or a 68th date!
It becomes very hard to get sick of a place with such a great vibe, culture and atmosphere. The waiters are very handing in recommending the different types of foods they prefer, as well as translating a number of items that native Melbournians may not have come across before.
With wax candles, a fully stocked bar and evocative drawings all over the walls, the two locations in Windsor and Elsternwick are a great gathering spot for anyone – eaters, lovers, mothers and fathers. These guys don’t exclude.
If you are taking out an Eastern European they will feel right at home in this cozy abode, with even the plates and forks having that traditional look and feel.
Not only a great place for dinner but also for drinks – if you haven’t taken that next step to the ‘dinner date’ yet – After the Tears will do everything in its power to ensure that there are no tears during or after the date (unless they are tears of happiness, reflective of what a good time you’ve had).
So next time you feel like taking the same boy/girl to the same pub/café that you’ve been to for the past 268 weeks straight, consider something a little outside the box and check out After the Tear. You won’t regret it 😉
